This lightweight, 100% aluminium Bansbach gas spring has the same characteristics as a conventional gas spring manufactured from steel or stainless steel. The only difference is lighter weight. Weight is a decisive factor in many applications, and we focus on keeping the weight of individual components as low as possible.
An aluminium gas spring is more than 50% lighter than a conventional gas spring. An ordinary gas spring with a diameter of 8/19mm weighs approximately 250g (150 mm stroke). An aluminium gas spring, with a diameter of 8/20mm (and the same stroke) only weighs about 120g.
This lighter weight is a decisive advantage when weight is an essential factor, for example, in airplanes.
